Weekend voting opens for San Diegans ahead of the California primary

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — San Diegans can cast their vote early through the weekend ahead of the June 7 California primary. The San Diego County Registrar of Voters Office in Kearny Mesa will be open for voters from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, allowing people who can’t make it out to a polling location during the week an opportunity to vote.

The office will also be open for voting during the same hours on Monday, and will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for primary day. More than 900,000 mail ballots were sent out by the registrar’s office.

"We know people are busy and voting on Election Day Tuesday may not be convenient," Registrar of Voters Michael Vu said. "Weekend voting gives voters yet another option to cast their ballots or drop off their vote-by-mail ballots."

The San Diego Country Registrar of Voters Office is located at 6500 Overland Ave in Kearny Mesa.
