Gasoline prices in San Diego continue slow drop
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped eight-tenths of a cent today to $2.818, the fifth decrease in six days after rising 36 times in 37 days.The average price has fallen 2.4 cents over the past five days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago and 35 cents lower than one year ago but 30.7 cents higher than one month ago. The average price increased 50.2 cents during the stretch of 36 increases in 37 days that ended last Friday. The average price rose 10 consecutive days, was unchanged March 7 and resumed increasing the following day.
The average price fell 72.3 cents during a stretch of 49 decreases in 50 days that immediately preceded the increases.
