Man stabbed twice in the chest in Lakeside altercation

LAKESIDE (KUSI) — A 28-year-old man was stabbed after getting into an argument with a group of men Friday night, but his wounds are not considered life-threatening, San Diego Police Department Sgt. David Hale said.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 9700 block of Los Coches Rd., Hale said. The victim and his group of friends got into a confrontation with another group that eventually turned into a fight, Hale said. A man involved in the altercation stabbed the victim twice in the chest. One of the victim’s friends transported him to a convenience store in Alpine, where they called deputies to the scene, Hale said. Medical responders treated him at the scene before taking him to a hospital. 

The suspect, who fled the scene following the fight, could not be identified by the victim or his friends, Hale said.
