Police investigating fatal shooting on 94 freeway

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A man who was in critical condition after suffering gunshot wound on the north shoulder of the Martin Luther King Jr. (94) Freeway, in the Emerald Hills section of San Diego died Sunday.

Officers dispatched at 11:35 p.m. Saturday to the freeway, near Euclid Avenue, on a "shots fired" call found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, said San Diego police Lt. Ray Valentin.

"The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is not expected to survive," Valentin said following the shooting.
