SWAT situation unfolds in Clairemont after man threatens neighbor with barbecue knife
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — San Diego police surrounded a house in Clairemont Saturday afternoon, where a man was refusing to come out after allegedly threatening neighbors with a barbecue knife. A family member of the man, believed to be in his 20s, called officers at about 1:30 p.m. expressing concern about him, Sgt. Ray Battrick said.
No one else is believed to be in the house with the suspect in the 3400 block of Jemez Drive, but there was concern that the man might be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Battrick.
Some officers assigned to the SWAT team were called in to assist with the situation, but it is not a full-fledged SWAT incident at this time, Battrick said.
No injuries have been reported and police have cordoned off Jemez Drive.
