San Diego Oasis helps older adults go back to school
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Social isolation is a growing epidemic among adults over the age of 55.
In San Diego County, more than 12 percent of our population is made up of people 65 years of age and older. This is expected to double by the year 2030.
A local nonprofit that helps older adults go back to school is hosting a free event that will feature classes to be offered this semester.
The “Taste of Oasis” event will be on Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at both the Grossmont Center and San Diego Oasis.
President and CEO of San Diego Oasis Simona Valanciute was at KUSI to talk about the upcoming event.
