San Diego Police Department searching for more victims of Craigslist scam

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Detectives from the San Diego Police Department Western Division enlisted the public’s help Thursday to find any additional people who were victims of a Craigslist scam.

On December 9, 2015, Anthony Joseph Green was arrested for multiple theft offenses. Green has a history of responding to Craigslist posts for people who are in search of an apartment to rent.

Green typically states he is a helicopter rescue swimmer in the U.S. Navy and has a furnished apartment available to rent at a low price. He claims that he will deploy and requires a financial deposit before he leaves.

As of now, six people have been identified as victims of Green’s thefts.
