San Diego residents rally to raise awareness for World Day Against Human Trafficking

DEL MAR (KUSI) – A large group of local residents raised their voices in the fight against human trafficking with a peaceful protest along Del Mar Heights Road.

Thursday was World Day Against Human Trafficking, and the non-profit organization known as “Operations Underground Railroad” set up a peaceful protest that attended by nearly 1,000 San Diegans.

The protest was meant to remind everyone how dangerous the world can be for children here in San Diego, and across the world.

This year alone, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has seen about a 90-percent increase in reports compared to the same time last year.
