San Diego Salary Commission votes against pay raises for Mayor and Council Members

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The City of San Diego’s Salary Setting Commission announced Tuesday that it would not recommend a pay raise for the Mayor and City Council members for the 2017-18 fiscal year.

2016 marks only the second time in the 43-year history of the commission for which no raise in pay has been the recommendation.

The council members and the mayor have not seen a raise in 13 years.

The commission is planning to hold a news conference Tuesday to explain the reasons why.
