San Diego Salon owners rally in hopes to save their industry

LITTLE ITALY (KUSI) – As Governor Newsom’s orders to keep various business sectors closed in the name of public health, business owners and workers of the impacted businesses are starting to fight back.

Monday, a large group of salon owners and workers marched in Little Italy to save their industry, and their livelihoods.

They marched with a variety of signs, one saying “Gavin Newsom it’s time you listen.”

KUSI News spoke with one salon owner who had a special message for Governor Newsom.

Rebecca Hyde-Edwards told KUSI, “just acknowledge us when you talk, we need to open up. We did what we were told the first time. At least explain to me why you shut us down again with some sort of explanation, and then you need to offer funding.”

KUSI Spoke with Hyde-Edwards in more detail where she explained her frustration with the government mandated orders to close.
