San Diego to see hottest temperatures of the week Tuesday

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — San Diego is experiencing a marine layer and fog west of the mountains Tuesday morning, but as the day progresses skies will clear, first inland and then along the coast.

Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the week for San Diego. Temperatures will remain comfortable along the coast but inland will feel the heat. An excessive heat advisory remains in effect until Wednesday night for mountains and deserts. But starting Thursday temperatures will cool into the weekend.

Monsoon moisture continues to move towards Southern California, increasing humidity levels for San Diego. The mountain regions may even see a bit showers and thunderstorms Tuesday.

Tuesday’s high temperatures are expected to be 80 degrees along the coast, 94 degrees inland, 88 degrees in the mountains and 111 for the deserts.
