San Diego weather improving through the weekend

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — May gray let up for some sunshine across San Diego Saturday, but a deep marine layer will hang over the county through the next few days. A low pressure trough along the Pacific coast will bring rain, but storms should mostly stay in northern California.

Areas saw strong winds over the last 24 hours, with Mount Laguna seeing gusts up to 64 miles per hour. The windy conditions were mostly in mountain in desert areas.

Daily highs remain below average for this time of year. Coastal temperatures will sit in the mid-60s through the weekend with partly cloudy conditions. Temperatures will creep toward the upper-60s as next week progresses. Inland temperatures will sit around 67 degrees for the next few days before reaching the 70s late next week. Desert areas will be back in the 80s by Sunday and will stay warm going forward following a string of cooler days.
