San Diego woman shares her experience achieving a full recovery after battling coronavirus

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diegan Nina Detrow was recently was diagnosed with COVID-19 and is now recuperating at home.

She was being treated for coronavirus at Scripps La Jolla where she spent multiple days on a ventilator. In a very personal story, Detrow described how the coronavirus symptoms slowly crept up and eventually made it so difficult to breathe that she had to go to the hospital.

The pain was so immense, that at one point, Detrow wrote on a piece of paper, “just let me die.”

Detrow joined KUSI’s Paul Rudy and Lauren Phinney on Good Morning San Diego to share what it was like being infected with coronavirus, and how difficult the recovery process has been.
