San Diego’s 2nd Annual Military, Veterans, & Spouses Entrepreneur Summit preview

Veterans can come to pitch their business ideas to investors, get access to mentors, and get business advice

The San Diego Veteran’s Coalition and it’s community partners are hosting San Diego’s 2nd Annual Military, Veterans, & Spouses Entrepreneur Summit on Saturday, September 15 at the Liberty Station Conference Center.

Lauren Phinney sat down with Maurice Wilson, CEO of REBOOT, to talk about the summit.

The event is open to veterans, active duty military and their spouses. This year’s summit will feature a “Pitch Off Competition” in front of angel investors where the winner could walk away with a $10,000 prize.

Attendees will learn about starting a business, financing a business, growing a business, doing business with the government, and franchising. There will also be networking with local veteran entrepreneurs as well as nationally renowned speakers, including Liz Perez, Deputy Secretary of Minority Veterans California Department of Veterans Affairs. The summit will provide extensive resources to help Veteran’s stay connected and be inspired.

The attendance is expected to sell out. With 300+ in attendance, early registration is encouraged. Fees are $25.00 to register (free for military active duty – use discount code: Msummit2018). After September 1 they are $35.00. Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch.

Community partners who are making this possible include: National Veterans Transition Services, Inc aka REBOOT™, the Rosie Network, Veterans Launch, County of San Diego Department of General Services, City of San Diego, California Department of General Services (DGS), San Diego Small Business Association (SBA), First Command, Ashford University, USD School of Business, Sierra College, Hire G.I., Farmers Insurance, Navy Federal Credit Union, Magic Brow®, RDM Management Group and Veteran’s Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
