San Marcos business still struggling to finding willing workers

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – Hunter Industries, San Marcos’ largest private employer, is finding it especially taxing to meet the demand with their current low supply of workers.

Scotty Lombardi, Senior Manager of Global Talent Management at Hunter Industries Incorporated, and San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones, joined KUSI’s Jason Austell on Good Morning San Diego to discuss the difficulty Hunter Industries is undergoing to hire enough workers.

Lombardi mentioned that he has incentivized workers by adding thousands of dollars per year to entry-level positions; produced a $1,000 referral and sign-on bonus; in some cases, reduced the minimum job requirements; and introduced flexible work schedules and part-time work.

In effort to hire more workers, Hunter Industries will be holding a job fair on June 23 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1910 Diamond Street, San Marcos, CA 92078.
