San Onofre proposed site for underground nuclear waste storage

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The old San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant could be the site of a nuclear waste storage system.

Under a new plan from Southern California Edison, the waste would be stored underground at the nuclear generation station.

This would be part of the ongoing process to decommission San Onofre.

Attorney Mike Aguirre joined KUSI to talk about plans for the nuclear waste dump.
