San Pasqual’s Haley Moore finishes strong in Yani Tseng Invitational
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The final day of the Yani Tseng Invitational bringing the best in girls junior golf. The final grouping made up on Nelly Korda, Andrea Lee and local Haley Moore.
Moore led day 1 of the tournament only to run into some trouble on day 2 sitting one stroke off of leader Nelly Korda to start the day. Korda playing some of her best golf on day 3 with great iron play finishing the day with a 68, 10 under par for the 3 day tournament and 4 shots ahead of the field. This would be the 1st Invitational victory for Korda. Moore kept her composure on day 3, carding 3 birdies and 2 bogeys on her way to a second place finish.
"I am really happy," said Moore after the round.
These last few months have been the best golf the 16 year old has played. She set a goal for herself to perform well in these American Junior Golf Association tournaments and she has. Her 2nd place finish Wednesday one of her best. Next up the Arizona commit will play the Junior Worlds at Torrey Pines golf course. Haley is hoping to win at Torrey this time around as she is nearing the end of her junior career.
