Santa Fe Christian 7, Carlsbad 35

The Dynamic Duo struck again for the Carlsbad Lancers. Quarterback Jason Whitteker and running back Dylan Rutledge showcased why they were an offensive threat yet again this week. Carlsbad took on Santa Fe Christian for part 2 of the series that was carried over from the 2013 season. The Lancers lead the series 2-0, and are also on a 2 game winning streak. The Carlsbad Lancers hope to keep the momentum going as they host the Vista Panthers next Friday.

The Santa Fe Christian Eagles put their best foot forward in Friday’s loss to the Carlsbad Lancers. The Eagles were without heavy hitter, 6-foot-8-inch 275 pound lineman, Max Gardner. Surely Gardner would have helped Santa Fe Christian immensely by his presence. Leading the team in yards was Sophomore Wide Receiver, Caleb Phillips. Standing at 6-foot-4-inches Phillips is quite the target, he had 54 rushing yards for the game. The Eagles will finally play at home as they face off against Rancho Christian, hoping to advance to 1-3 for the 2014 season.
