Week 8: West Hills Wolf Pack 21, Santana Sultans 11

The Santana Sultans (4-4) came out to West Hills to take on the West Hills Wolf Pack (6-1) on a Friday night rivalry game.

This was a great game start to finish in a battle for the Mayor’s Cup.

West Hills scored quickly off a fumble from Santana, setting up a Jordin Young 26-yard touchdown pass for Jacob Browning.

After the Wolf Pack score, Santana drove the ball all the way down the field and went for it on 4th down from the 15-yard line, but was stopped short.

After the half Santana had another good drive off a 48-yard pass to receiver Chaz Baker but were held to a field goal.

West Hills had a slim 4-point lead heading into the 4th until Jordin Young completed a 70-yard touchdown pass to Kole Klingerman to give them a 14-3 lead.

West Hills would score again off a 16-yard touchdown making the score 21-3. Santana would get a late score and convert the two point conversion to finish off the game 21-11.

West Hills gets to take home the Mayor’s Cup for the seventh straight time.

Santana Sultans (4-3) are taking on the Wolf Pack (5-1) at West Hills this Friday night in a rivalry game.

The Santana versus West Hills games have been known to be contentious.

A player to watch for on Santana is senior wide receiver and defensive back Colton Snipes. Colton is an athlete and has a way of getting to the ball at important moments. He has two interceptions and 40 tackles so far this season.

Some players to watch for on West Hills are offensive lineman Nathan Jones, who is the leader of this offensive line. Nathan is a senior for West Hills and has been known to call deceptive offensive line schemes to throw off defenses.

Another player to watch for is Jordin Young, who is having a phenomenal senior year for the Wolf Pack.

West Hills runs their option offense through Young and his running abilities make him a big play threat at all times. Jordin has 384 passing yards and 637 rushing yards through 6 games.
