SCADaddle 5K for Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection research

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 5K run/walk takes place on the east side of Crown Point Park on Mission Bay will support Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD).

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease.

According to the organizers SCAD is the number one cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
