SAN DIEGO (KUSI) –  A bomb squad investigated reports of a suspicious package Downtown, which later turned out to be harmless, a fire department spokesperson said.

San Diego Fire Rescue got a call this afternoon with reports of the package inside a planter in a courtyard outside the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building at 880 Front St.

It is unclear what was in the bag or who left it.
