SDG&E faces backlash over attempts to raise rates in 2024
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – SDG&E customers are sounding off on the company’s attempts to raise rates in the coming years.
A public meeting was held over the phone today allowing residents to weigh in on efforts to raise electric rates by 5.3% and natural gas rates 17.5% starting gin 2024 and running through 2027.
During the call, customers made clear that current rates are already too high for many people to pay, and pleaded with the California Public Utilities Commission to deny the request coming from SDG&E.
KUSI’s Matt Prichard went live with details.
