SDPD officer injured in shootout visited by Chopper the Biker Dog

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A San Diego Police officer who was seriously injured in a shootout last week received a special visitor.

Officer Francisco Roman was paid a visit by Chopper the Biker Dog while recovering from his injuries.

Officer Roman and officer Dan Bihum were struck by gunfire last Saturday in the Rolando neighborhood while answering a violent disturbance call.

The officers entered an apartment  in the 4800 block of Rolando Court when suspect Joe Darwish opened fire, striking Roman and Bihum.

Officer Roman, who is still recovering from serious injuries, was paid a visit by Chopper the Biker Dog, a well-known Boston Terrier and Certified Therapy Dog from San Diego.

On his Facebook page, Chopper wrote:

“Please keep this Officer, his wife and little baby boy in your prayers as he recovers, praying for a full recovery 

Thank you to Officer Roman and his wife for allowing us to share these photos.”
