SDPD searching for suspect accused of murder in San Diego case

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The San Diego Police Department are searching for the suspect accused of shooting and killing a man on November 16, 2014.

SDPD received a 911 call of a male shot at the “Crown Hookah Lounge”, located at 7059 El Cajon Blvd.

When officers arrived, they found 29 year-old Rodney Harmon of San Diego suffering from gunshot wound(s) to his chest.

Life saving efforts were attempted, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On Thursday, August 6, 2015, the San Diego County Grand Jury issued indictments for two suspects in the murder of Rodney Harmon. 26 year old Neil Edward Downey and 28 year old Pierre Verenee Readus of San Diego have been indicted for murder.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2015, San Diego Police Department Homicide Investigators arrested and charged Pierre Verenee Readus with the murder of Rodney Harmon. Readus has been arraigned on the charges in San Diego Superior Court and remains in custody at the San Diego County Jail.

Based on the indictments, an arrest warrant was obtained for Neil Edward Downey charging him with the murder of Rodney Harmon. Bail has been set at $2,000,000.00.

Neil Downey is currently a wanted fugitive and is to be considered armed and dangerous.
