SDSU insists on mask mandate despite recent relaxation of pandemic guidelines

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Despite the recent decision by the CDC to relax pandemic guidelines, San Diego State University has still chosen to impose a mask mandate for the first few weeks of classes.

KUSI’s Ed Lenderman visited SDSU to see how the mandate will affect the look of the campus.

The mask mandate begins a week before classes start on Aug. 15. Students, faculty and staff have all been required to wear masks during instructional hours, even if they take place outdoors.

Masks are recommended but not required for social gatherings such as basketball games.
