SDSU student found dead at fraternity house

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A San Diego State University student was found dead
today at a fraternity house on the outskirts of the campus, authorities
reported.

The death of the man at the Phi Kappa Theta house on Aztec Walk, off
55th Street, was reported about 8:30 a.m., SDSU spokeswoman Gina Jacobs said.

The name and age of the student, who was not a member of the fraternity,
was withheld pending family notification.

University officials declined to release further details about the
circumstances of the death.

San Diego police spokesman Jim Johnson said his department's homicide
division had not been called in on the case, which would have occurred if the
fatality had appeared suspicious.

Jacobs said SDSU staffers were “deeply saddened by this tragic loss.”

“Students have been offered emergency counseling through SDSU
Counseling and Psychological Services and are encouraged to contact them if
they need support,” she said.
