SDSU vs. UNLV kicks off the season with 16 local athletes on the field

San Diego Sate kicks off the 2020 season Saturday, October 34 at Dignity Health Sports Park against University of Nevada Las Vegas. There are a total of 16 active players on the roster who played high school football here in San Diego.

San Diego state has 14 local players on their active roster but 25 total local athletes who played high school in San Diego. Matt Araiza from Ranch Bernardo, Carson Baker form Helix, Mark Salazar from Rancho Bernardo, Lucas Johnson from Mt. Carmel, Noah Tumblin from Mira Mesa, Tariq Thompson from St. Augustine, Marshall Eucker from La Costa Canyon, Eric Wilson from El Camino, Rashad Scott from Helix, Mekhi Scott from Scripps Ranch, Greg Bell from Bonita Vista, Andrew Alves from St. Augustine, David Delgado from Hilltop, Jesse Matthews from Christian, Michael Shawcroft from Helix, Darius De Los Reyes from Lincoln, Ubaldo Nolasco from Chula Vista, Josh Bornes from San Marcos, Domonic Gudino from Olympian, Johnathan Harrison from Carlsbad, William Dunkle from Eastlake, Zachary Thomas form Carlsbad, Jalen Booth from San Diego, TJ Sullivan from Mt. Carmel, and Cameron Thomas from Carlsbad.

On the other side of the field, UNLV has two local San Diego athletes, Mehki Stevenson from Helix and Jackson McCullough from Cathedral Catholic.
