San Diego Unified School Board voted unanimously for Trustee Beiser to resign, but will he?
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The San Diego Unified Board voted unanimously to ask Trustee Kevin Beiser to resign. They say he cannot properly help run San Diego’s largest school district and wrestle with a civil lawsuit, claiming sexual harassment and assault.
Beiser maintains his innocence but hasn’t communicated with his constituents since the allegations came to light in March. The school he teaches at, Castle Park Middle in Chula Vista, says he’s been put on an indefinite leave of absence without pay.
To actually remove Beiser parents would need to gather signatures from 15 percent of the estimated 586,000 registered voters in the school district. Parents have threatened to do just that but it’s not a quick fix.
