Seany Foundation fundraiser raises $275K for childhood cancer support

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) -The Seany Foundation announced today that its latest fundraiser generated $275,000 for programs supporting cancer patients and their families.

The nonprofit foundation raised the funds at its 11th annual Everything is Possible Celebration last month. The funding will be used for the organization’s camps and programs for childhood cancer patients, which are intended to help kids bond with other patients who can empathize with them.

The Seany Foundation also honored Phil’s BBQ founder Phil Pace with its 2019 Community Service Award for his support of the organization’s Camp Reach for the Sky.

“I see everyone that works with The Seany Foundation’s children and families as a hero,” Pace said. “I am humbled that they chose to recognize my support for the organization and thankful for those that came out to raise money to bring joy to even more families.”

The foundation was formed by the family of Sean Lewis Robins after his death due to Ewing’s sarcoma in 2006. The Robins family has since raised nearly $4 million to support cancer patients and their families and fund research into childhood cancers.
