Search suspended for Fallbrook man reported missing while on cruise

FALLBROOK (CNS) – A 20-year-old Fallbrook man who disappeared Friday while on a cruise with his family in Alaska remained missing Monday and authorities were no longer actively looking for him, it was reported.

Blake Kepley went missing while on the Holland American cruise ship Oosterdam while it was en route from Sitka to Ketchikan, Alaska, Friday morning, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

Ship personnel searched the Oosterdam, then called the Coast Guard, which spent nearly 24 hours scouring 352 square miles by air and boat for the missing man before suspending active search efforts, the newspaper reported.

Water temperatures in the area are in the low to mid-50s, officials told the Union-Tribune.
