Security efforts increased at Mission Hills HS
SAN MARCOS (CNS) – Security was beefed up Wednesday at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos following an online threat against the school, but classes were being held as usual, authorities said.
A student found the posting on Burnbook.com around 10 p.m. Tuesday and alerted a parent who notified the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, sheriff’s Lt. Jerry Hartman said in a statement.
“The posting made several unspecific threats toward the school and indicated the person posting was building a firearm,” he said, adding an investigation to identify the poster was ongoing. Anyone with additional information about the threat was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (858) 565-5200.
