Sen. Joel Anderson holds annual holiday legislative open house

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — California State Senator Joel Anderson had a meeting Wednesday night with over 4,000 of his constituents.

It was the senator’s annual holiday legislative open house in El Cajon. The free event is an opportunity for Anderson to hear from citizens about their concerns and legislative ideas.

But much of the concern over this new legislative session is about bipartisan cooperation.

On Monday, legislative leaders passed a resolution rejecting President-Elect Donald Trump’s hard-line immigration stance.

Senator Anderson talked about the challenges ahead in Sacramento. He said 40-60 percent of the bills he introduces come from the people he serves.
