Shooting occurred following an altercation at a house party

MIRA MESA (KUSI) – Police responded to a shooting in Mira Mesa Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:14 a.m., an argument broke out between two men after one of them tried to crash a house party in the 8800 block of Mira Mesa Boulevard, San Diego police said.

One group left after the altercation, but according to Officer Robert Heims, the attempted party-crasher returned later and fired his gun into a window near the door, hitting the man he had argued with.

The victim was hit in the right shin and was taken to a hospital by his friends, Heims said.

The suspect fled to an unknown location. Heims described him as a black man his 20s with a muscular build and a Mohawk.
