Shots fired into Lemon Grove house during drive-by shooting
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Several shots were fired into a house during a drive-by shooting in Lemon Grove Sunday near Route 94, though no one was injured.
Shortly before 1:15 p.m., black males in a compact red car drove by the victim’s residence and fired several shots into the victim’s house on the 3600 block of Olive Street after the suspects yelled out gang-related statements, according to Sergeant Joe Tomaiko. One of the bullets struck the front of the house below one of the windows, though the bullet did not go through the wall and it was not found in the stucco outside.
The suspect’s car drove south on Olive Street after firing the shots and then drove west on North Avenue.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Lemon Grove Substation recovered shell casings and one bullet from the crime scene in addition to completing a witness check, Tomaiko said.
Most residents of the targeted house would not cooperate with the investigation, the officer said, and the neighbors across the street reported the shooting.
