Showers, T-storms headed to county

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Showers and a few thunderstorms were likely throughout much of San Diego County Thursday, meteorologists said.

“A low pressure trough will move from Nevada into Southern California today,” according to the National Weather Service. “This will bring showers and few thunderstorms mainly to the mountains and deserts, but also to the inland valleys.”

Highs today were expected to be 65 to 70 degrees in coastal areas, 67 to 72 in the valleys, 61 to 69 in the mountains and 83 to 88 in the deserts.

Sunshine is expected Friday as the trough begins to move out, the NWS said, adding that over the long holiday weekend, high pressure aloft will bring a warming trend.
