Skateboarder hit by car in Vista, suffers head injury

VISTA (CNS) – A 34-year-old skateboarder struck by a car as he rode into
a Vista intersection suffered a serious head injury, a sheriff's sergeant
said Thursday.

The skateboarder, whose name was withheld, rode into traffic at N. Santa
Fe Drive and Nevada Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and was struck
by a 2005 Scion, sheriff's Sgt. Joel Wigand said.

He was flown to Palomar Medical Center following the crash and expected
to live, Wigand said.
