Small brush fire breaks out in Lakeside

LAKESIDE (KUSI) – A small brush fire broke out along state Route 67 in Lakeside Tuesday morning, but did not threaten any nearby structures.

According to CHP, the fire started just after 9 a.m. on a hill near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road and burned roughly three acres.

While the cause of the fire was still under investigation, authorities closed down one northbound lane of the 67 at Vigilante Road.
