Small earthquake rattles North County

A small offshore earthquake rattled North County on Saturday.

The magnitude 2.8 quake hit at 8:17 a.m. from an epicenter 18 miles west
southwest of Oceanside.

No damage was reported.

The data came from automated equipment and was subject to revision by
scientists later.
