Small School Game of the Week: Christian 62, Boron 6

The Small School Game of the Week in Week 2 of the Prep Pigskin Report and the first game of the Honor Bowl ended with a win for the Christian High Patriots 62-6 over the Boron Bobcats.

The first quarter started off strong for the Patriots. Brad Jeremiah threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to Alonzo Richardson for the first touchdown of the night. Soon after, the Boron Bobcats return the kick off but it is soon fumbled. Bryce Riepl scoops the call and runs it all the way in for a touchdown. Patriots up 14-0.

Still in the first quarter Jeremiah throws a long pass to Alexander Gonzales, he would run the ball in for a 27 yard touchdown. Moments later Jeremiah find Jesse Matthews for a 20 yard run which leads to Jeremiah’s 2 yard touch down to Richardson bringing the score 28-0.

The first quarter ended 28-0 Patriots.

Later in the second quarter, Jeremiah hand off to Damien Bloemendaal, Javier Jimenez comes in with the lead block helping Bloemendaal run the ball in for a touchdown. Just before half, Jeremiah finds Matthews again in the end zone for 6 yard touchdown pass.

The first half ended 42-0. The Bobcats put up a good fight with one touchdown in the second half of the game. The Patriots took home their second win of the season 62-6. The Christian High Patriots will travel to Santana next Friday.

PREVIEW:The Small School Game of the Week for Week 2 of the Prep Pigskin Report has Boron High School traveling south to Cathedral Catholic to take on Christian High Patriots in game one of the Honor Bowl.

The Honor Bowl is in its 5th season in Southern California. The first three seasons, the Honor Bowl was played at Oceanside High School; last year the Honor Bowl moved to Mission Viejo, now it will be held at Cathedral Catholic.

Christian High is coming off their first win of the season over Hurricane High School, located in Hurricane, Utah. Over the past four seasons, The Patriots are 46-6 with two section titles. One player to watch this season is Brad Jeremiah who threw for 2,034 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. One of Jeremiah’s target is TE Bryce Riepl. On defense, the Patriots can count on Garrett Rosenthal and CJ Kirwan to anchor the defense.

Boron high school, located up north in Boron, CA is traveling south for their second game of the season. The Bobcats are coming off a a 14-11 loss against Kern Valley. Senior quarterback Anthony Davis leads the offense.
