SAN DIEGO (KUSI) –  The murder of a local Somali woman is creating a bond between San Diego’s Somalian community and the San Diego Police Department.

At a special meeting Friday, officers educated the Somali women about the need to report domestic violence something that probably would not happen in their native country because of cultural differences.

The sisters of murder victim Keri say they view the SDPD as their brothers and sisters because of the way they handled the tragedy that the officers ‘Felt their pain.’ They are also grateful for the efforts of the SDPD and US Marshall’s in tracking down the suspect in Panama.
