South Park motorcycle pursuit ends in crash and arrest

SOUTH PARK (KUSI) – An arrest has been made after a suspect on a motorcycle led San Diego Police Officers on a high-speed chase from Hillcrest to South Park.

The suspect was first spotted by a civilian who recognized the motorcycle being ridden as stolen.  Police were called and upon arrival, attempted to stop the suspect at Ray Street and Juniper.

The suspect then fled at high speed, through multiple red lights and stop signs, eventually making his way to 28th st and Grape St, before attempting to ride into the canyon at Grape Park.

The motorcycle then hit a rock and crashed. He continued to run into the canyon on foot where officers pursued and captured him.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for his injuries and is facing Grand Theft and Felony Evasion charges according to the Police.
