Southern California men arrested on suspicion of supporting terrorist group
SANTA ANA (KUSI) – Two suspects were arrested in the Orange County area Thursday night amid suspicions of conspiring to support terrorist organizations, and authorities announced Friday that they planned to file terrorism-related charges against the men.
The two men, 24-year-olds Muhanad Badawi and Nader Elhuzayel of Anaheim, were arrested in separate locations Thursday – Badawi in Anaheim, and Elhuzayel at Los Angeles International Airport.
The arrests come on the heels of an investigation by a joint task force made up of the FBI, the Anaheim Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
