Special Report: Widows, vets react to Iraq taken over by ISIS

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Take a walk through Mount Rosecrans Cemetery and it is a tutorial in American military history with veterans.

From World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Now, you can see newer graves.

The ones are from the Iraq War, like Marine Richard Gannon from Escondido. He was killed in the Al Anbar province.

In places where so much American blood was spilled, like Fallujah, now have been completely been taken over by ISIS militants.

Putting an end to the ISIS threat had local Congressman Duncan Hunter asking though questions in a recent Congressional Hearing.

But for the heart-broken widows, war policy issues are a much distant second to the lingering pain, and the simple fact of how much they miss the men they loved, and who loved them.

It is the purest definition of real love you find anywhere.

Watch the special report above.
