St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral offering ‘ashes to go’ for Ash Wednesdsay

On Ash Wednesday, St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral sent teams to 13 different locations around San Diego to offer “ashes to go” for anyone who cannot make it to church on the first day of Lent.

The “Day of Ashes” is the day at church when the faithful have their foreheads marked with ashes in the shape of a cross and mark the beginning of Lent, a time for inward reflection and turning to God. The ashes applied to our foreheads is to recognize our mortality and dependence on God.
