St. Paul’s Senior Services launches ‘Sunshine For Seniors’ amid COVID-19 pandemic

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – St. Paul’s Senior Services kicks off their ‘Sunshine For Seniors’ program to lift the spirits of senior residents socially distanced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The senior living communities are asking San Diegans for their help.

With National Volunteer Week coming up, April 19-25, and a way to give back while at home practicing social distancing, St. Paul’s Senior Services is encouraging San Diegans to share some “sunshine” with their seniors. They are asking for any of the following:
• Send a card with a message of encouragement (store-bought or handmade)
• Write an uplifting letter
• Send a drawing
• Color a page from a coloring book
• Share an inspirational message or story
• Donate a large print puzzle book – crossword, Sudoku, etc. (Amazon is a great resource for these!)

With only essential staff allowed to visit the communities during these unchartered times, the senior residents would no doubt welcome these well-wishes.
