Stabbing suspect arrested after SWAT standoff in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after allegedly stabbing a man, then barricading himself inside a San Marcos apartment, authorities said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately available, according to the sheriff’s department.

The suspect reportedly barricaded himself inside one of the apartment units and a SWAT team responded to the scene.

Authorities shut down the 200 block of Knoll Road and asked motorists to avoid the area.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff’s department announced in a tweet shortly after 8:30 a.m.

No details about the victim or the suspect were immediately available.
