SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The pandemic resulted in major upheaval with people across the globe forced to move in with family members, relocate to less expensive cities, or simply lay low due to health concerns.
According to Helen Woodward Animal Center, this has resulted in an enormous amount of openings in many programs. It also has resulted in people reevaluating their lives and decide what cause they wanted to dedicate themselves to.
If you have always wanted to work with animals, now is the time to do it! Helen Woodward Animal Center is currently seeking animal-loving employees for 18 positions in the following departments:
HUMANE EDUCATION:
• Need Instructor – Responsible for educating people about animals and their care through a variety of programs such as day camps, Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, birthday parties and more.
• Need Education Assistant of Business Operations – Responsible for conceptualizing, advertising, budgeting, and facilitate communicating education programs.
THERAPEUTIC RIDING:
• Need Horse Attendant – Responsible for weighing and feeding hay, special grains and supplements to horses, mucking stalls; dump, clean, and refilling water buckets; distributing bedding to stalls, hand walking, administering medication and more.
• Need Therapeutic Riding Instructor – Responsible for helping develop a special needs rider’s potential through learning to ride, control, and bond with horses.
ADOPTIONS:
• Need Animal Care Technicians – Responsible for providing loving care to all adoptable animals including feeding, grooming, cleaning and exercise and introducing adoptable animals to potential adopters detailing specific animal history and information.
• Need Customer Service Reps – Responsible for providing high quality customer service to adoptions department clients and visitors. Need customer service skills, a positive attitude, a high degree of professionalism.
• Need Foster Program Rep – Responsible for coordinating with potential foster families via email, Facebook and by phone to provide high quality foster homes for incoming animals.
CLUB PET:
• Need Club Pet Manager – Responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of all animals in our care as well as the effective day-to-day operations and management of the entire staff (both kennel and customer service), Volunteer Program and Retail store.
• Need Assistant Groomer – Responsible for working with the Groomer to assist in routine aspects of bathing and conditioning dogs and cats as well as help to calm and distract dogs during hair grooming and nail trimming.
VETERINARY:
• Need Animal Health Manager – Responsible for collaborating each day with the Adoption Services Director, the Adoptions Veterinarian, and the Center Chief Veterinarian to ensure quality care, compliance and safety standards, and operational goals are consistently exceeded..
• Need Veterinary Assistant – Responsible for assisting Veterinarians with medical prep, surgery and post-surgery animal care.
OTHERS:
• Need Volunteer Coordinator
• Need Maintenance Technician
• Need Kennel Assistant
• Need Development Assistant
• Need Receptionist
