A $200,000 state grant to install child seats in cars of low-income residents
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A $200,000 state grant announced today will extend funding for a program that installs child seats in the cars of San Diego County low-income residents.
The grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety will allow the”Keep 'Em Safe” program to operate through September, according to the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency.
The program distributed about 2,000 child car seats and conducted 132 safety presentations around the county last year, according to its website.
The program is operated by the Pacific Safety Council, a nonprofit organization which describes its mission as making San Diego's communities “safer places to live, learn, work and play by providing quality education, information programs and events.”
