Strange lights in San Diego skyline were military training exercise

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Reports of mysterious lights over the San Diego coast turned out to be a military training exercise.

Numerous accounts of mysterious lights in the San Diego skyline were reported Wednesday evening.

The training exercise was conducted by Navy squadron VMGR-325 30 miles off the Pacific Ocean coast. They used the flairs seen in the sky to perform evasive maneuver training, according to Naval Base Coronado.
