Strong storm downs trees in La Mesa

Heavy winds and rain have downed several trees in the East County.

According to KUSI meteorologist Mark Mathis, the area was hit with a microburst, which is a small-scale downdraft from a thunderstorm.

The National Weather Service Tuesday issued a thunderstorm warning for La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley and Bonita, with hail and wind gusts of up to 50MPH expected.
